2017 KABA Diversity Scholarship Program – Apply By This Friday (Sept. 15)
KABA is pleased to announce its 2017 KABA Diversity Scholarship Program. KABA, with the generous support of Dykema Gossett PLLC, will award two scholarships, each in the amount of $1,000, to assist qualified law students with their academic expenses, and will present the scholarships at KABA’s 24th Annual Banquet which will be held at The Hotel Palomar on September 30, 2017.
To be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant must (i) be a law student attending one of the law schools in Illinois, and (ii) be a person whose background or experience would otherwise contribute to the diversity of the legal profession. In selecting each recipient of the scholarship, KABA will evaluate a number of factors including, but not limited to, the applicant’s (i) commitment to the Korean American community, (ii) demonstrated service to the Korean American community of Chicago, (iii) commitment to public interest legal work, (iv) academic excellence or growth, (v) financial need, and (vi) career aspirations. No one factor is required or dispositive.
