Mission Statement of the KABA Legal Action Committee
President Trump’s recent executive orders on immigration policy have created a need for immediate action among Korean American lawyers. We condemn policies that are restrictive and discriminatory on the grounds of religious beliefs, race, age, or sex. We are guardians and advocates of justice, and cannot remain silent when our communities are threatened.
The KABA Legal Action Committee has been established to advocate the rights of our communities. Specifically, this Committee plans to support legal actions for justice, equity, and opportunity for Korean Americans, through the following:
• Influencing and advocating for the interests of the Korean-American community via legislative campaigns
• Supporting the election campaigns of Korean-American candidates
• Drafting and signing onto petitions and amicus briefs
• Coordinating with affiliates and supporting local volunteer opportunities on an emergency basis
KABA general members are encouraged to join the Committee and to look out for volunteer/community advocacy opportunities.
